Mumbai Airport Sound Installation – Jaltarang
Overview:
Jaltarang is a water installation at the newly constructed Mumbai International Airport. The installation stands as the biggest artwork in the entire airport with artwork done by various artists from all across the India. Digital Jalebi was appointed as the technology and interaction design consultants with the responsibility to bring alive the installation. The installation has water spots with water streams flowing out of them, once the user interacts with the water, he or she can generate different swars(sounds) from the Indian raga system. The installation acts like a big musical instrument in itself.
